Located to the edge of the river pathway, a short distance from the Beechwood entrance to the park, the Singing Tree is a destination apart from the noise of the Festival.
Here, visitors stop to listen to the timeless sounds of the river and the rustling grasses and to hear a chorus of scores of vintage keys sound stories of rooms now left. Interspersed with the keys, decorative and melodic strings of found objects and salvaged pipe chime as currents, motion, and breezes catch colourful paper tails. Shiny surfaces reflect light from chained glass lanterns of blue, yellow, and green that intersperse the branches and keys
From below a configuration of triangular cardboard lanterns create a starburst that draws people closer .
